Finally I have started to do orientation on Nights in the ICU and I am so happy I do not have to get up super early in the morning for work lol. IYKYK. Orientation so far has been very great and I have been loving the ICU thus far. If you all didn't know I wanted to work in the ICU as a new grad but I was not hired so I decided to do Psych and I really liked Psych but I am so happy to have this chance to improve my skills and level up in nursing!

New Nurse contract? | What they don't tell you | LPN to RN | Nursing vlog
You’re making me nervous about my new grad OR residency I thought it was going to be better than Med Surge/Tele. 😅
Future CRNA? 👀👀👀
Give me that 11-11, thats my dream schedule lol im not a morning person
I never considered PDN. 11 yr nurse. Worked so many specialties in and out patient. Currently in a desperate situation where I feel I HAVE to leave or my mental and physical health will suffer. Applied to multiple roles and got a callback for a pDN role. About to set up interview. Your video has been EXTREMELY informative and helpful. With the right client/patient, I feel this might be EXACTLY what I need to get me through my last yr of NP school. Cheers! ❤
This is the position I just had an interview for. Hoping to get it.
I love all of your content. I am an LPN going to school for RN and recently just had an interview for an ICU position. Kinda nervous but excited at the same time.
I just graduated this past May and accepted a position in the OR. No contract thank God.
Cleaning and mopping??? Where tf is environmental services?
Thank you for sharing your experience girl 🙏🏻
For the Arnica, It is important to take it internally. Either drops or tablets 💜
Thanks for this video? How long did you make it with the faja before you transitioned to a binder?
I think you helped break down SOME of the differences. Responsibility and licensure is based on education. So many times it's said there's not that much diffetence, that LPNs can do IV drugs..no one states WHY. Because an RNs pharmacology education includes what that drug is doing to the renal, cardiac, respiratory, vascular etc system as it's being administered and signs to watch for afterwards not to mention rate of administration and effects. AND SO MUCH MORE regarding physiology. I have never disparaged an LPN or heard other RNS bad mouthing LPNS. At 74 and retired, an LPN told me yesterday that LPNs could learn ON THE JOB the assessments skills that RNs had. I knew the difference in programs but not why some LPNs felt so bitter about their positions vs RN. This has blown me away. I went through a tough RN program and have taken many BSN classes. There's differences on every level.
My Bp wouldn’t allow me
Hey Are you in St. Louis Missouri? If so did you find someone to do lymphatic massages? I am having a MMO next week in Chicago and looking for a a therapist in the STL with no luck.TIA
I’m 5 weeks po breast augmentation with a lift. I have the same band lol Were is your bra from?
Yep, yup yup yep, you’ve done assessment out of your ears and you’re actually very good at it because guess what that’s gonna be your patient and you wanna make sure that your patient is happy and healthy so you call that body like a fine tooth comb except for sometimes sometimes when they come in, there’s not their patient. They’re just doing an assessment. They do a quick look over and move on. I found so many thingsthat the RN missed the nurse manager missed it’s just ridiculous, but I love you so far, my dear you have a gift to teach
These procedures should be illegal, Maybe it’s just me but it’s to many young women willing to risk it ALL😢
Enjoy ICU. Missed Ya. I'm glad you're well.
The fact that I have to go to someone’s house, is a NO for me.
Whats a fellowship program hun
I wish I'd listen to this video a year ago, before failing nursing school. I start over next month and i must say this video is gonna help me so much! Great stuff!!!
I’m doing my nursing pre-reqs and want to do OR, but after watching a couple videos, it seems to be not kid friendly 😩. I have a small child.
I’m a surgery nurse of 3 years and I will say not all places are like this my little ones was 3 when I started and my shift was a 9hour shift and I would do call a little after my shift or sometimes weekends.. Not all places make you take call like this..surgery centers are even better because no call or weekend 🥳
Ohhh thank you for the reply!! I really want to do OR . This makes me feel a lot better thank you ❤
Found this video after I applied for a PDN LVN position. Will be graduating RN Bridge in May hoping to stay with the same company.
Thank you! Im going from Post Acute to LTACH... a little nervous, but i would like to learn more.
Soooo entertaining! This is the way to learn about the field!
Hey I'm new to the channel, are you a LPN bridging over or RN ?
I have already bridged over to RN and I did document my journey as well! Explore my videos bc the struggle was real lol
Thank you for being so realistic & honest! I’ve also been watching videos of people recommending this and that and I’m thinking “Dang…what will I do with this stuff afterwards?!” Lol. I’m getting my mommy makeover this Friday!
Im so excited for you and thanks! Good luck on your mommy makeover journey!
Lmao. “Sick ones”. I hate when they ask what are they here for. I draw a whole blank.
Girl I looked at that lady like she had 3 heads lol
I’m currently on a surgical PCU and baby them 4 patients have you more busy then the 26 I had at the nursing home. I’m like how is this even possibly.
2 patients in the ICU will have you on your feet all day. When I was a new grad and shadowed in the ICU they made it look so easy and they were just sitting in their little pods outside the patients room. I really coming to the conclusion they had me sit with someone that didn't have super critical patients. lol
@@GlamGirl0824 yeah that was to reel you in. Lol
That's crazy because I wanted to work there after that but ended up getting hired in Psych first but now i'm in the ICU and my facial expressions look like "WTF" at least 50 times a shift lol @@p3rf3ctchaos
I've had a C section before too, compared to a mommy makeover, which procedure did you feel was an easier and better recovery journey? Plus, what antibiotics or vitamins did you take after for pain and swelling and for faster recovery? And when after surgery did you start taking it?
Breast Augmentation was the easier and better recovery, although the tummy tuck wasn't to bad considering I had 3 c-sections it was more so soreness than pain. They prescribed me nausea, pain( no narcotics), antibiotics. I felt like Tylenol PM and ibuprofen worked better for my pain and my sleep, so I didn't take the pain meds they gave me. I also took stool softener and I made sure to compress. I tried arnica pills and tea but it did nothing for me. I also took multivitamins, iron, and magnesium after I got a blood transfusion.
It’s always the people!!!!
Yes every single time and I wish it wasn't like that.
I’m in pre-op and we gotta be there at 6 because we have to pre-op pts an hour and a half before their surgery
Would you have your primary doctor sent over your medical records to the surgery doctor?
They can or if you have your records you can just email it over to them. They will usually give you a list of the records they need!
Hi,what if you don't want B A with the mommy makeover would you know if they would do other area of the body?
A lot of place will do tummy tuck and BBL combo. you can always just get whatever you want done as an individual service!
I was told at mia aesthetics you can’t get mommy makeover and a bbl because I’m getting breast done 🥲 I wanted a one stop shop 🤣🤣
Waouhhhhh, amazing video ♥️♥️♥️♥️, I subscribed 👌
We have early starts where our shift is 7:30 and case starts at 7:30 so the night shift will get the room ready and bring the patient in or the 7AM shift brings the patient in. I cant imagine being off of work and calling work in regard to work business… that’s crazy. But yea you do need to be clocked in and changed into OR attire by the start or your shift not just walking in. But it’s different for us because we need to change into hospital provided scrub’s. I think y’all are being played.
Thanks for sharing! My hair twin. 😊 what is the name of the brush?
a paddle brush I got from my local beauty supply store. I do not remember the name lol
I was an Operating Room Nurse in Germany (level 1 trauma, one of the largest municipal hospitals in Europe). I'm currently looking into Private Duty Nursing, lol.
Sounds like a pretty poor facility. I’ve been in the OR for almost a year and a half and have a pretty happy environment. We have separate staff for turnover, only take 6-12 hours of call per 6 weeks, have 6 months of training, pto is pretty fair, and have been trained in all services
Sorry you’re going through this. At my facility, we have to option to use PTO, we make our own schedule, so getting days off are not hard. We get paid extra to scrub and to precept another nurse. We have separate staff to do our turn over. We also get 6 months of training, and they will extend orientation if you need it.
What facility do you work at?
Thank you for this. I’m going back soon.
Omg your video reminded me how much I loved and hated the OR at the same time, I was a CNA for 3 years there and I was often mistreated and overworked by the management it was a horrible experience and very stressful but overall I like the OR, also my coworkers were nice we were like a family.
No you should not got there it is unsafe ; you must be alone "hippa". so you have to go alone wherever. Nope!!!!
the hell you talking about crazy😂
Is it hard taking PTO -considering that it’s mostly a M-F job even with the flexible shift option?
how do you use it? do you shampoo your hair and then put it on like a conditioner and leave it on for 30 minutes????
That’s crazy that they want nurses to wipe the floors and walls. Like with!!!!
Thanks for the advice. I graduate in 2 days & on the road to NCLEX by January.
these are some of the best study tips i’ve heard. i know i learned something thank you miss smart lady❤
Can you give me the clinic name where you get your surgery done
Where you get your surgery done
